Gambling terms, explained straight

About this site

Corrections

Every material factual correction, listed in public with what was wrong.

Report an error

Email info@gamblewiki.org with the page and what is wrong. A sentence is plenty. If you have a source, include it; if you do not, send it anyway — knowing that something is wrong is the useful part, and finding the source is my job.

This includes the small things. A payout stated the wrong way round, a rule that applies only in one variant, a term used loosely: all of it counts.

What happens next

  • The claim gets checked against the sources cited on the page, and against the regulator or reference work where one applies.
  • If it is wrong, it is fixed, and the page's last-updated date changes.
  • If it turns out to be right, I reply explaining why, and if the page was ambiguous enough to be misread, the wording gets fixed anyway.
  • Material factual corrections are added to the log below, with the date, the page and what was wrong. Typography, broken links and clarifications that do not change meaning are fixed without a log entry.

Correction log

The log is empty. This site published in July 2026, and corrections will be listed here as they are made, oldest first. An empty log means nothing has been corrected yet — not that nothing will be.

Complaints about something other than accuracy

If you think a page reads as encouragement to gamble, or that something here could cause harm, that goes to the same address and is treated the same way. This site has no commercial reason to defend a page, so if you are right it changes.

If gambling is causing you harm, help is available free and independently of this site at BeGambleAware and on the National Gambling Helpline, 0808 8020 133.
