Craps come vs pass

In craps, a Come bet works like a Pass line bet that you place after the come-out roll, with the next roll treated as a new come-out for that wager.

Payout
Even money for both bets.
House edge
1.41% for both Pass and Come bets5.
Come-out win probability
8/36 for both, based on rolling 7 or 114.

Key points

  • A Pass line bet is placed before the come-out roll; a Come bet is placed after, but its next roll acts as a fresh come-out for that wager.23
  • Both bets win on 7 or 11, lose on 2, 3, or 12, and otherwise establish a point that must repeat before a 7 to win.12
  • The only difference is timing: the Come bet lets you join the action after the initial come-out roll.

Where this term is used

Not the same as

  • Come line craps — an informal term for the Come bet area, not a distinct rule set
  • Come vs don't come craps — a comparison between Come and its opposite-side version Don't Come, which wins when Come loses
