Craps bets payouts

Craps bets payouts are the payoff ratios that determine how much a winning wager returns relative to the stake, varying by bet type.

Pass/Come
1:1 payout; house edge 1.41%1
Field (common)
1:1 on 3,4,9,10,11; 2:1 on 2 and 12; house edge 5.56%1
Hard 4 / Hard 10
8:1 payout; house edge 11.11%1

Key points

  • Payouts are expressed as to 1 odds: a winning bet at 7:1 returns seven times the stake plus the original wager.2
  • Buy bets pay true mathematical odds but charge a 5% commission; on 4 or 10 the house edge is 5%, falling to 1.67% if commission is charged only on wins.3
  • Some bets resolve on one roll (e.g., any craps at 7:1), while others pay only after a point is established.1

Where this term is used

Not the same as

  • Craps odds payout — refers specifically to true-odds payouts on odds bets, which are paid at mathematical odds rather than a house-edged proposition schedule
