Recognising the signs

Signs of gambling addiction often appear in clusters. A person may gamble more than intended, chase losses, and lie about time or money spent.1 Other indicators include borrowing money to gamble, selling possessions, or neglecting responsibilities at work or home.5 Emotional signs such as restlessness, irritability, or guilt when not gambling are also common.2
